The 2025 Prionus Beetle Monitoring Program Report is now available. This extension publication presents comprehensive findings from a season-long monitoring effort that tracked adult and larval Prionus beetle activity across commercial blueberry farms in eastern North Carolina. The report delivers new insights into emergence patterns, seasonal dynamics, and infestation severity of Prionus species affecting blueberry production, addressing an emerging pest issue of growing concern for growers. Produced by the Small Fruits and Tobacco IPM Lab led by Lorena Lopez, in collaboration with industry partners and Extension personnel, the report supports evidence-based decision-making in integrated pest management and highlights opportunities for enhanced monitoring and future control strategies.
